Have you ever wanted to know how to make your own candle? Join DSM Mercantile and Wander Women for a beautiful spring Saturday to make foraged-themed, wildcrafted candles! This event will celebrate the beauty of spring while teaching you a delicious new skill!
Join us at Greenwood Park, one of the best places to catch the changing season in Central Iowa, as we hike and forage for nature's beauty. We'll collect leaves, berries and other found things before heading back to a shelter to learn the ins-and-outs of candle making from Mallory at the DSM Mercantile. Mallory will walk participants through the candlemaking process, and show participants how to incorporate their foraged goodies into their candle. Then, as our candles set, we'll head back out into nature for a spring-themed hike, hunting for the season's first blooms and learning about nature's harbingers of the season.
All of this will be accented by a delicious snack spread and Wander Women hot tea as we make our beautiful creations! Each participant will go home with their own unique wildcrafted candle and memories to savor.
Candles will be made of 100% soy wax with wood wicks.
Registration is limited to 12 folks per session (morning or afternoon).
