Prairie, Plants & A Picnic

  • Jester Park 12130 Northwest 128th Street Granger, IA, 50109 United States (map)

$28

The summer is really when the prairie starts to come alive, and we plan to celebrate! Join us for a beautiful evening of hiking through a local Iowa prairie to learn the basics of prairie plant ID and put your identification skills to the test! This event is perfect for prairie newbies and lovers to learn all about the tallgrass prairie ecosystem, its benefits and its iconic plants.

We’ll start with a guided prairie hike, and then comes the real fun: an interactive immersive identification activity that will help you learn about Iowa’s common prairie species, how to identify them, and what’s in bloom throughout the year.

After our romp in the prairie, we’ll come together again to share a delicious summer picnic. There’s nothing better than spending a beautiful summer night amongst the blooms with friends. Can’t wait to see you there!

Registration is limited to 20 folks.
