Full Wolf Moon Hike
Red Feather Prairie, Polk City, IA
Jan. 25 | 6-8 p.m.
$15
Join us for a moonlit hike to celebrate January's full Wolf Moon! Named after howling winter wolves (originally believed to howl out of mid-winter hunger, but now we know better), this full moon is a special one meant to celebrate a season of spiritual reflection.
On the hike, we'll traverse the paved Neil Smith Trail that follows the path of the Des Moines River and Saylorville Lake, before coming to Red Feather Prairie, a beautiful prairie reserve just outside Polk City. We'll see the sleeping winter prairie and (maybe!) frozen lake in moonlight before heading back to the Saylorville Visitor's Center for some warm tea.
Registration is limited to 25 folks.
