A perfect bonding experience and a great chance to experience the great outdoors together, our Sprouts trips are a perfect balance of education, relaxation and just plain fun. In our 12-14 trips, we provide the opportunity for middle/high school kids and their caregiver to learn outdoor skills and challenge themselves in nature. 

On this trip, we’ll spend most of Saturday paddling the beautiful Turkey River — perfect for beginners. We’ll also hike at Motor Mill Historic Site, visit the Clayton County nature center, and dive deep into camp cooking.

Price includes registration for one child and one adult. Aunts and nieces, grandmothers and grandchildren, and other adult-child relationships are welcome! If you choose the gear rental package, it includes: 1 tent and 2 of all other gear (sleeping bag, sleeping pad, camp chair, meal kit, etc.)

  • Camping Details: Tent campground space with access to pit toilet. Modern bathroom facilities (flush toilets and showers) also available.

About Motor Mill Historic Site

Hidden in the Turkey River valley, the Motor Mill Historic Site is a peaceful natural area that features a six-story limestone flouring grist mill and four related stone buildings dating from the late 1860’s. Motor Mill is a historic site on the National Register of historic places and a Silo's and Smokestacks partner site.
Motor Mill park also offers primitive camping, canoe access on the Turkey River, trails for hiking and horseback riders, and bow hunting. Source: Clayton County Conservation
